Polka Dots and Bald Heads!!

So here is what my hair looked liked after I cut...these pics are from about a month ago. My twa (tinny winny afro) has grown a little since then but its still really short. For those who jumped on the natural hair b andwagon with me or those still contemplating here are some hair care tips that will help you to maintain healthy ends....here is what I do

1. Use Shea butter as a natural hair moisturizer- Shea butter is not expensive and can be found in any Walmart or Target (I purchase mine from a local African shop)

2. I also use Kinky Curly- I only recommend this product for all natural hair, for people transitioning it will often mat relaxed ends.

3. Drink lots of water and try to maintain a healthy diet to increase growth potential

4. Use a moisturizing Shampoo and Conditioner- any shampoo and conditioner made for retaining moisture is good to use (I alternate between using a Coconut Milk Shampoo/ Conditioner and Aussie Moisture Shampoo/Conditioner)

5.Don't be afraid to try different products and search around- Trying different products will help you figure out what works best on your hair and texture

6. Be patient- this tip applies especially to my "big choppers"- Give your hair time to grow---accept the fact that you won't be back to your longer lengths for a while so embrace your TWA :)

7. Don't be afraid of scissors- If your ends are bad cut them. There is no need to sacrifice the health of your hair for a longer look...So what if your hair will be a little shorter, it'll grow back in time
